For over 25 years, we have been manufacturing the highest quality components for our customers. Our team is made up of expert machinists, engineers, administrators, welders, and technologists who will work with you to ensure you’re satisfied with our products. We provide a wide variety of value added machining services, and our CNC equipment allows us to create parts with incredibly tight tolerances. Additionally, we provide secondary machining services for every stage of your project including broaching, lapping, and more.

What Are Some of Our Secondary Machining Services Available?

Broaching

Broaching is a process through which a cutting tool, or broach, is pushed and pulled through the workpiece. This process can be used for complex and intricate profiles, as well as workpieces that are circular and flat. The broach itself is made up of a series of tools placed along a tool body in the axial direction, with each tooth varying in size to allow for greater precision in the process.

Lapping

This polishing process creates perfectly flat, polished parts. It functions by rubbing an abrasive between two surfaces, and can be used on a variety of materials, such as metal, ceramic, and glass. While it is often used to create a flat surface, lapping can also create domed surfaces with a great deal of precision.

Burnishing

Burnishing is a finishing process in which a hard roller is rolled across a metal surface. This process completely smooths the surface of the workpiece, eliminating peaks and valleys and resulting in a mirror-like finish. Parts that have been burnished tend to be more durable and wear-resistant. They are also less prone to corrosion due to their lack of cracks.

Centerless Grinding

This grinding method is unique in that the workpiece is supported by a workblade rather than mechanically constrained. It is then ground with a grinding wheel and a regulating wheel. The goal of this process is to create a perfectly round workpiece, with a smooth surface finish and tight tolerances. Experts using this technique can finish workpieces with incredible precision.

Cylindrical Grinding

Cylindrical grinding is a specialized technique designed for cylindrical or rod-shaped workpieces. The workpiece is set up to rotate in one direction while the grinding wheel rotates the opposite way. The wheel and table may move up and down or side to side. Cylindrical grinders can be controlled by a computer, providing a highly precise final finish.

Surface Grinding

This technique uses a grinding wheel to remove material from the surface of a workpiece. There are a variety of different methods of surface grinding, including vertical swivel head grinding and horizontal spindle single disk grinding. This method is utilized to produce flat surfaces, sharpen cutting tools, and provide specific thickness tolerances or surface finishes. It can also be used to remove material from hard surfaces.
